Goldis Residential Building was originally a thirty-year-old house located in the Marzdaran district of Tehran. Besides serving as the home of a six-member family, the building also accommodated a neighborhood supermarket. As the family's needs evolved, the project was redefined as a redevelopment partnership. While preserving the commercial function at ground level, the building was transformed into a five-story residential complex with two apartments on each floor.

To maintain clear circulation between the commercial and residential functions, the commercial entrance was relocated to the northern alley, with the storefront positioned on the same side to minimize its impact on the main façade.

The architectural concept explores the relationship between interior and exterior through a composition of solid and void. Semi-open spaces and integrated planting extend greenery into everyday life, creating visual continuity between the private living spaces and the surrounding urban environment.

A continuous stone skin wraps the building, connecting the north façade, south façade and interior spaces into a unified architectural language. Neutral materials provide a calm background that allows vegetation to become a defining element while maintaining harmony with the surrounding neighborhood.

Controlled use of wood within the balconies introduces warmth and reinforces the residential character of the project. The restrained material palette, minimized glazing, and carefully integrated greenery contribute to a cohesive urban presence while creating a balanced relationship between architecture, nature and everyday living.
